REPENT!

Evangelical repentance is repentance of sin as sin: not of this sin nor of that, but of the whole mass. We repent of the sin of our nature as well as the sin of our practice. We bemoan sin within us and without us. We repent of sin itself as being an insult to God. Anything short of this is a mere surface repentance, and not a repentance which reaches to the bottom of the mischief. Repentance of the evil act, and not of the evil heart, is like men pumping water out of a leaky vessel, but forgetting to stop the leak. Cuando Debemos Dar Gracias?

A menudo, un comando se encuentra en la Escritura puede ser difícil de entender. A diferencia de un manual de instrucciones, la Biblia no incluye paso a paso los procesos que debemos seguir, pero las preguntas que surgen al leer servir a un propósito significativo. Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús "(Fil. 4:6-7).

When Should we Give Thanks?

Oftentimes, a command found in Scripture can be difficult to understand. Unlike an instruction manual, the Bible does not include step-by-step processes for us to follow, but the questions that surface as we read serve a meaningful purpose. These questions drive us to discover answers by studying the Word of God, and our search helps to grow our relationships with the Father. One such command is “in everything give thanks” (1 Thess. 5:18).

Is it possible someone can truly be thankful in everything, including hardships? What about struggles resulting from personal failure? As we better understand the magnitude of divine sovereignty and purpose in our lives, the answer becomes clear.

We’re faced with trials both great and small, and they present us with awesome opportunities. All of our circumstances are cause for worship, and we can truly praise God for everything He does in our lives. This is why Paul asserted, “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7).

Guiados por el Espíritu de Dios

Muchos creyentes siguen su vida cristiana y no entienden la necesidad y la obra del Espíritu Santo. Sin embargo, este tema es uno de los más importantes en la Biblia. Aparte de que el Espíritu Santo, tú y yo simplemente no puede vivir una vida santa. Es su capacidad que nos da poder para resistir al pecado y obedecer a Dios. Él nos ayuda a interpretar la Escritura, y nos permite tener comunión con el Señor. Sin Él, no se puede tener una vida cristiana verdaderamente fructífera. El apóstol Pablo sabía la importancia de confiar en el Espíritu Santo. Él escribió: "Andad en el Espíritu, y no se llevará a cabo el deseo de la carne" (Gálatas 5:16). A pesar de que son criaturas de nuevo en Cristo, cada creyente todavía tiene el sistema operativo carne dentro de él o ella. La carne es nuestra tendencia a pecar o de rebelarse contra la voluntad de Dios para nuestras vidas. Al caminar en el Espíritu, usted y yo podemos tener el poder para vencer la carne y vivir una vida cristiana victoriosa.
